Bringing bold ideas to the frontline: EUDIS Hackathon Autumn Edition Winners Announced

The third edition of the EU Defence Innovation Scheme’s (EUDIS) Defence Hackathon took place from 17 to 19 October 2025 across eight European locations, hosted by different organisations from Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal. Tehnopol served as the local hub in Tallinn, connecting all eight countries.

This Autumn edition focused on Technologies for Space and Defence, addressing the pressing need for Europe to strengthen its space and aerospace resilience. Participants collaborated to develop innovative prototypes, ideas, and solutions addressing three key challenges:

  • Protection of space assets
  • Space for defence
  • Sovereign aerospace

The hackathon welcomed 471 participants from EU Member States, Norway, and Ukraine, including researchers, developers, students, entrepreneurs, innovation enthusiasts, and defence experts. Over one intensive weekend, participants co-operated to design and pitch 129 innovative solutions addressing real-world defence and space needs.

A Platform for Groundbreaking Defence Innovation

Over the course of three days, teams co-operated to design and prototype solutions that can enhance European resilience in space and defence.

Throughout the hackathon, participants benefitted from keynote speeches, as well as the guidance of mentors from defence, aerospace, and innovation sectors. The Central Hub streams enabled participants across Europe and Ukraine to engage with speakers and receive expert advice to refine their solutions.

Each local organiser hosted unique activities and offered prizes for their winning teams, which included cash awards, mentorship hours, and opportunities to test solutions in real-life scenarios.

And the winners are…

On 19 October 2025, eight winning teams were selected—one from each host location: Fondazione E. Amaldi (Italy), Bayern Innovativ GmbH (Germany), Arribes Enlightenment (Spain), Stichting dotSPACE (Netherlands), Romanian Tech Startups Association (Romania), Prague Innovation Institute (Czech Republic), Blue Dot Solutions (Poland), and Productized (Portugal).

In addition to the prizes offered by the local hosts, each winning team has been invited to join the EUDIS Hackathon Mentorship Programme. This two-month programme will allow them to further develop their ideas with expert guidance. The journey will culminate in a final pitching competition on January, where they will present their solutions to a high-level jury of European defence stakeholders.

The winning teams are:

  • Poland – Sajgonki
  • Portugal – Raid
  • The Netherlands – Trusk
  • Romania – SkyHunter
  • Czech Republic – Kestrel Defence
  • Italy – True Sight
  • Germany – C-UAS Bavaria
  • Spain – Eurolynx
