Tehnopol Startup Matchmaking

No idea grows without the right team! Many startups don’t stall because of a lack of ideas or technology, but because the right people don’t find each other at the right time.
Startup Matchmaking was born out of a very practical need. Over the years, our team has worked closely with hundreds of founders, ideas, and early-stage startups and we’ve seen the same questions come up again and again:
-
Where do I find a co-founder who is truly committed?
-
How do I reach the right technical and business people to build the company with?
At the same time, we know there are many strong specialists and engineers in the ecosystem who don’t yet have their own startup idea, but who have the ambition and drive to build something new. The challenge isn’t a lack of interest, it’s that the right people don’t meet in the right format, at the right time.
Startup Matchmaking brings these sides together—intentionally.
Why Startup Matchmaking?
Startup Matchmaking is designed to:
-
connect business ideas and early-stage teams with the people they actually need
-
help founders find co-founders
-
provide specialists and future co-founders with a clear and trusted entry point into the startup ecosystem
-
reduce random networking and increase genuinely relevant matches
The focus is not on collecting contacts. The focus is on building teams.
Who is Startup Matchmaking for?
Startup Matchmaking is for you if you are a founder or early-stage technology solution initiator looking to intentionally strengthen your team by finding one or more key roles such as a CTO, developer, technical co-founder, or leaders in marketing, sales, or business development.
It’s also for you if you are a specialist looking to join a startup in a technical, business, or marketing role, or if you are considering becoming a co-founder and are searching for a team and idea with real growth potential.
Matchmaking is open to both experienced professionals and those taking their first steps into the startup world.
How does Startup Matchmaking work?
Startup Matchmaking is not just a one-off initiative. We continuously collect participant profiles and connect suitable people and teams on an ongoing basis, also outside of organised events.
In addition, we host two structured Startup Matchmaking events each year, where meetings take place in a clearly defined format based on pre-matching. Exact dates will be announced soon.
Startup Matchmaking event format
The evening starts with short founder pitches. Each founder has up to three minutes to explain the problem they are solving, the current stage of their startup, and which roles they are looking to fill. This gives participants a quick and clear overview of which teams they want to engage with further.
This is followed by structured speed dating, lasting approximately 60–90 minutes. The format is designed in two stages to ensure the right people meet the right roles.
First, pre-matched meetings take place. Before the event, participants receive personalised meeting schedules, and each person meets several founders whose needs and profiles align most closely. The initial rounds are reserved specifically for these meetings.
After the mandatory meetings, the format becomes more open. Participants can move freely between role-based zones—technical roles, business and marketing roles, and co-founder roles. Each founder clearly displays which role they are looking for, and each conversation lasts around six to seven minutes.
At the end of the evening, participants have time for deeper conversations with those they connected with most—discussing potential collaboration, next steps, and mutual expectations.
Startup Matchmaking is a focused, long-term matchmaking format where new teams form, co-founder partnerships emerge, and the next startup success stories begin.
